DMVOFFGRID: a full-bleed photograph of the community on a wooded trail, with the headline Hike. Run. Repeat. across it.

Why it exists

The community already ran on Instagram and group chats, where nothing stays findable and nobody outside can see what it is. The site is the front door: what the crew does, where it has already been, and how to get in.

What was built

An identity-led site for a DMV outdoor community: the events it runs, the trails it has walked, a first clothing drop, and the routes into the group chats where the plans actually happen.

Systems

Every line is on the live site

  • 01A photographic hero carrying the community itself, not stock imagery
  • 02Events, listing the trails the crew has already walked
  • 03An authored trail progression: one dragged marker moving through named checkpoints
  • 04A first clothing drop, with size selection
  • 05Gallery from the trail
  • 06Founder record, and a what-to-bring guide
  • 07Routing into Instagram and WhatsApp, where the plans are made
  • 08A long editorial page re-composed for mobile rather than reflowed into it

Selected details

The trail progression on DMVOFFGRID: numbered checkpoints a visitor drags a marker along, from first follow to pulling up.
The trail progression — one dragged control, named checkpoints
DMVOFFGRID on a phone: the same photograph re-composed for a narrow screen.
Responsive — re-composed for a phone, not reflowed into one
